Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic and operational plans aligned with ADHENO’s vision and Values.
- Take the lead to increase ADHENO’s income (ensure financial sustainability) through identifying new funding sources.
- Identify, prepare and submit funding proposals to partner organizations and other potential donor agencies.
- Guide the design, implementation and evaluation of projects and programs and strengthen the capacity of the field office to effectively implement the interventions.
- Develop and oversee the execution of ADHENO’s communication strategy to enhance the visibility of ADHENO and its work.
- Ensure timely activity & financial reporting to the gov’t, donor agencies and other partners.
- Provide leadership, direction and support to ADHENO staff, assist them to be accountable for timely deliverables and conscious use of resources, and support them in their professional development.
- Oversee the management of ADHENO Head and Branch offices’ personnel and ensure proper management of property and finances.
- Maintain existing partnerships and networks and establish new ones and enhance ADHENO’s brand credibility with stakeholders.
- Ensure proper implementation of ADHENO’s policies and procedures approved by the board.
- Provide proper stewardship over all ADHENO’s resources and ensure audits are done in accordance with government and other donor requirements.
Job Requirement
- Second degree (MSc/MA) from well recognized University, in Rural Development, Environmental Science and related fields
- At least five years’ relevant work experience (preferably with NGOs working in rural communities)
- Extensive experience in Project Cycle Management, and leading teams (people mgt.)
- Strong public relations and resource mobilization (fund raising) skills
- Good knowledge of the communities’ culture in the operation area (North Shoa Zone)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Good knowledge and experience of participatory Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning
- Proven experience in report writing both in English and Amharic
- Strong computer skills
- A person of tested integrity and commitment
- Willingness for extensive travel in rural settings
Place of work: Addis Ababa, with regular field visits to project areas.
