Ethiopian Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is looking for qualified candidates to fill the following position
Purpose of the Job:
To guide and support the overall employee relation strategies including provision of day to day services, pension management, management of discipline and employee health and safety initiatives. This role also serves as a focal person for management of the HRIS system.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide day to day support to employee requests including writing various letters and correspondences. Review and work with relevant managers to provide responses to employee requests/complaints.
- Serve as a focal point for processing employee pension scheme and provision of payroll related data to finance.
- Provide technical support to directors in managing employee relations and employee complaint and closely work with the Commission General Counselor and disciplinary committee to follow up disciplinary cases, and issues.
- Set up a system to support managers and directors to monitor attendance of employees.
- Coordinate the Commission initiatives related to employee wellbeing and health.
- Conduct exit interviews for employees whose employment contract terminates.
- Analyze exit interview data and propose actions for improvement.
- Conduct employee satisfaction and employment engagement surveys and propose actions.
- Lead the roll out of the new HRIS system including training of staff on how to use the system and developing change and communication plans. Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR information in the Human Resource Information System.
- Serve as a focal person for all issues related to HRIS system and closely work with IT directorate and external venders to solve issues on the system.
- Train, support or guide other staff on use of HRIS system.
- Develop and deliver a range of regular and ad hoc HR reports and analysis, covering all aspects of HR including: workforce diversity profile, turnover, reward, recruitment, staff development, promotions, personal review and development plans (appraisal), grievances, disciplinary actions, sickness, absenteeism, etc.
Job Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
- BA Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Management Information System, or related fields.
- 6 years of relevant experience in HR management
- Demonstrated experience in management of employee relations including data base management
- Computer literate
- Experience working with HRIMS is a plus
- Full proficiency in Amharic language is required. Knowledge of other local and/or international languages is advantageous
