Employment Type: Permanent Under the direct supervision and technical support from preparedness and capacity building Directorate, the officer will involve in document preparation, capacity building activities, data base/roster of the Public health emergency management work force, mentoring, supervise and perform and follow the overall activities expected from the preparedness and capacity building directorate. The officer involves on full dedicated on capacity building activities like Frontline and advanced FETP (Field epidemiology training program), PHEM (Public health emergency management) basic training that are implemented throughout the country. Additionally, the officer may engage to all public health emergency related activities like surveillance and response. 

Roles and Responsibility:

• Provision of Pre- or in-service training for graduates/Health professionals
• Base line assessment of system functionality and following impact of capacity building activities 
• Conducting Capacity building need assessment like training needs assessment and provision of trainings according to identified gaps
• Coordinating routine RRT(Rapid Response team) and EMT(Emergency Medical Team) training for rapid response teams and provision of training for newly joining members
• Coordinate and facilitate document preparation/revision (Manuals, Guidelines, SOP, training materials) Workshop
• Roster trainings received by RRT members or actors in PHEM system
• Monitoring the impact of capacity building activities especially training implementation impact
• Provision of short-term (frontline field epidemiology trainings) and coordinating long-term (advanced FETP, PhD, etc.) trainings
• Curriculum development with higher educational institute to integrate PHEM concepts
• Ensure the recruitment of new staff in collaboration with other team according to the needs of each PHEM directorate
• Participate in surveillance, timely investigation and response activities in case of an outbreak when needed
• Work with stakeholders to strengthen overall capacity building related activities of the PHEM.
• Capable of producing technical reports data analysis and preparation of proposals, guidelines, manuals, etc. 

Job Requirements

• MPH in Field Epidemiology with two (2) years’ experience  
• Experience in public health emergency management (PHEM) and Capacity building activity is a plus
• Able for frequent field travel to program implementation and hard ship area
• PHEM and capacity building related training exposure is a plus
• Effective in communication, multi-tasking, organizational and prioritization skill
• Ability to meet deadlines; work independently and cooperatively with team members
• Self-reliance and problem-solving ability and hard ship experience
• Working under stress condition with additional extra time accordingly
