Key Roles and Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Project Team Leader and working closely with the technical team of implementing partners at field and head offices, the SNRM Officer will be responsible to perform the following key duties:

• Leads and coordinates participatory socio-economic and biophysical watershed assessment, mapping, and watershed development planning
• Leads and coordinates the implementation of biophysical soil and water conservation activities and their proper maintenances
• Ensures watershed management activities are integrated and harmonized with rural development endeavors in the area
• Capacity building of staff, community, government and other stakeholders on integrated watershed management and ensure their participation.

Job Requirement

Required Qualifications and Experiences

• MSc or BSc Degree in Natural Resource management or Watershed Management or Forestry with at least 5 years relevant work experience respectively;
• Skill of GIS and Remote sensing are assets
• Good command of community mobilization and facilitation skills

Duty Station: Robe Town in Bale Zone with frequent travel to Project implementation woredas
