We are pleased to announce the vacancy for Specialist - Network Operations in Network Operations and Maintenance within the Technology function in Ethiopia. In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below. 

Detailed Description 

Reporting to EHOD – Network Operations and Maintenance, the role holder will be responsible for the management of all functions to operations & maintenance that are non-Telecom in nature within Network and Service Operations department. This includes contractor management of Maintenance Contracts, Leased services, network NOPEX management, liaising with external parties (infrastructure development companies, government agencies and local authorities) and processes and procedures. 

Job responsibilities 

• Set up of new contract relevant to operations. Formulate deliverables to be measured and penalty situations for non-adherence. 
• Renew all contracts before expiry 
• Continuously formulate and agree with service provider ways of improving performance. 
• Coordinate between suppliers and operations when actions are taken to improve performance. 
• Setting up and managing regular review meetings with suppliers and contractors 
• Generation of credit notes for services outside SLA 
• Liaising with external partners on potential risks to the network and sharing the information 
• Mitigation of potential risks to the network 
• Forecast and engage Vendors/ Service Provider on spares for the growing network considering budgetary constraints and all delivery logistics. 
• Keep an accurate inventory of all spares required by operations 
• Monitor and control all spares movement within operations and to/from repair center. 
• Formulate as a living document spares handling procedure and enforce adherence by all parties. 
• Submit monthly figures to Budget Team and discuss and agree for posting in financial books. 
• Prepare yearly forecast figures as may be required by Budget Team 
• Attract & recruit the best talent  
• Develop the team through learning initiatives, mentoring & coaching 
• Team Engagement though constant feedback & communication, performance discussions 
• Drive attainment of efficiencies through automation of processes/activities 

Job Requirements

• BSc Degree in electrical and electronics engineering or telecoms engineering or mechanical engineering. 
• 8 years working experience in a technical role in operations and maintenance of which 3 should be in a management position.
