Our team
The Finance team has the overall responsibility of all aspects of financial management in Oxfam. This includes maintenance of effective controls and compliance in accordance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements. It also includes responsibility for budgeting and reforecasting, the monthly internal reporting cycle, partner grant financial management, donor reporting and compliance, and the annual accounts and audit process in Ethiopia.
Job purpose
The Senior Finance Officer will be the lead on ensuring that the donors and government financial reports are prepared on time and with the needed quality for submission. This role will support the Oxfam finance team by being responsible for day-to-day operations related to donor, partner, and Oxfam program implementation financial issues.
This includes working closely with program and funding teams to ensure producing of realistic and correct donor budgets as part of the proposals submission process, placing finance related information on Oxfam program management and accounting (OPAL and PeopleSoft) online systems, providing all parties with effective (donor) budget variance reports, and ensuring the global budget is updated with new funding or changes provided by budget holders.
The Senior Finance Officer ensures that partner Financial reports were obtained from partners in a timely manner and reviewed for timely submission to Donors.
This role will support the Oxfam finance team by being responsible for day-to-day operations related to Partners’ financial issues. This includes working closely with Partners in order to ensure compliance of partners to donors’ requirements, placing finance related information on Oxfam program management and accounting (OPAL and PeopleSoft) online systems, identification of capacity gaps & undertaking capacity building exercise, financial monitoring as well as track Partners compliance requirement.
