Job Description
We are, one of the world’s largest humanitarian international Non-Governmental organizations, providing relief, rehabilitation and development support to vulnerable people and communities over 30 countries. We began work in Ethiopia in 2000 in response to severe drought in Ethiopia’s Somali region and are currently providing assistance to Ethiopians and refugees in six regions in Ethiopia, implementing emergency and development programs in health, water and sanitation, economic recovery and development (ERD), women’s protection and empowerment, education, child protection, and multi-sectorial emergency response and Services providers.
Scope/Job purpose:
The primary objective of the position Procurement Manager is to support the Supply Chain function in developing world-class procurement practices to improve program support.
It requires the occupant to have a deep understanding of humanitarian supply chains including but not limited to need assessment, sourcing, buying and expediting procurements
The success of this role requires close collaboration with field staff, country leadership, program teams, and GSC Quality Assurance
Major/key Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Supply Chain Coordinator, you will be responsible for the following:
Procurement Planning
Procurement
Contracting Process
Supplier Management
Compliance and Legal
Staff Management and Development:
Pharmaceutical Supply Chain [Optional]
Internal: Regular relationships with regional and country Supply Chain staff at all levels, Deputy Director of Operations and Project Coordinators/Mangers. Actively participate in global and regional supply chain, conferences, and leading sessions as required.
External: May Serve as IRC Supply Chain representative in outside meetings, other non-governmental organizations, inter-agency groups and foundations.
