Role DESCRIPTION

The position holder shall be the liaison between business and technical teams. A business analyst will work closely with commercial partners to shape products and services at a conceptual level and will work widely across support functions to ensure that the associated risks and constraints are appropriately captured and communicated prior to implementation. The business analyst will develop a deep understanding of business processes and use this knowledge to effectively define business rules that can be implemented by the technical teams.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Carry out full business requirements discovery through engagement with stakeholders across the business
• Collect, elicit, classify, analyze and document business requirements as per set standards and define business rules in alignment with the needs of the business as well as the existing processes leveraged.
• Translation of business requirements into practical, achievable and effective business rules and processes.
• Analyze, quantify, and communicate the impact of the required process automation, modification, and re-engineering
• Document all impacted processes and maintain the master process flows where required.
• Development of project artefacts that aid delivery teams in understanding integration needs, functionality requirements, capacity plans and associated ongoing support.
• Regular reviews of technical deliverables (incl. functional specs, manuals, test cases, delivery timelines, technical issues) to ensure adherence to the business requirements
• Create high-level solution designs to meet business requirements by exploiting the functionality available in IT systems already in the organization, or by filling missing gaps with appropriate new systems, in accordance with enterprise architecture.
• Form part of the delivery structure to validate and vet technical implementations against the business requirements and associated existing processes.
• Support the development of solutions that align to Vodacom, Vodafone and Safaricom best practices and governance requirements (e.g. Security, ISO, SOX compliance)
• Oversee implementation of solutions to ensure conformance to design and requirements
• Lead a project team to drive the business needs and expectations by ensuring business intent is understood and delivered by IT.
• Collaboratively develop test-driven business requirements, security and functional specifications with business, technical, and testing team members.
• Partner with commercial stakeholders and champoin clear communication of requirements, risks, and alternative approaches, liaise with other sections/departments in the delivery of services and projects as well as maintain good working relations between the Delivery Team and all stakeholders.
• Ensure sensible consensus is reached for all requirements/specifications and help business, IT, Test leads and vendors to have the same mutual understanding thereof.
• Promote proper release planning, guaranteeing adherence to business needs and priorities and as a consequence, contribute to the reduction of development costs in future.
• Follow a prioritization process that is transparent and understandable for all parties involved.
• Participate in innovation to improve delivered products and services and to explore new technologies and their applications to the enterprise space.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Business related fields
• Professional Experience in Business Analysis (CBAP, IIBA) as well as software development lifecycle is preferred, in agile (SAFe, Scrum) and waterfall methodologies.
• At least 2 years of broad technical background inclusive of databases, applications, Infrastructure, cloud, development , enterprise architecture, solutions architecture and system design experience
• Professional Experience in Business Analysis (CBAP, IIBA) as well as software development lifecycle is preferred, in agile (SAFe, Scrum) and waterfall methodologies.
• A methodical approach with proven experience designing and delivering complex technical roadmaps
• Experience in Business Analysis tools covering Busines Process diagramming, Wireframing, Flowchart, Model Building Desing, Requirements Management, writing formal Use Cases and other UML tools
• Ability to drive initiatives without any formal authority in an ambiguous environment
• Understanding of working with 3rd party partners and suppliers
• Strong business acumen and mindset with strong communication skills
• Ability to guide/teach others in architecture principles
• Working knowledge of all domains in telecoms including VAS, Charging, CRM and Digital Services
• Ability to persuade stakeholders and to champion effective techniques through delivery
• Proven track record for delivery of large scale, complex projects delivering IT/Telco customer solutions; demonstrable leadership skills and organizational experience.
