Position Title: Consultant – Production Chemist

We are looking for a short-term Production Chemist Consultant to take part in the supplier/Manufacturer selection process for WuhaAgar Manufacturing. To ensure smooth supply operation of the organization by leading the timely and cost-effective acquisition and delivery of locally procured water treatment chemicals with the desired quality.

• Develop technical qualification and evaluation criteria
• Develop a client–manufacturer partnership strategy
• Develop Vendor performance management

Your contribution

• Actively participating in a bid evaluation committee of a manufacturer selection process
• Develop a detailed technical evaluation criterion
• Professional advisory role to the main procurement committee towards the requirement that a potential candidate should fulfill
• Professional advisory to the main procurement committee regarding the nature of chemical manufacturing industry, economic and social factors, its implication over commercial operation 
• Conduct a site visit to a potential candidate manufactures
• Develop and deliver a site assessment report using a clear evaluation criterion
• Develop a client–manufacturer partnership strategy focusing on a sustainable supply by considering factors contributing to and influencing the operation
• Develop and deliver a supplier/manufacturer performance evaluation criterion relative to the objective of PSI IGA
• Identify systems and solutions to maximize effectiveness and efficiency of the strategic procurement process including finding ways to increase the number of vendors tied to Long Term contracts.
• Advise the process of identifying key performance indicators for vendor performance monitoring and perform quality assurance for the procurement function based on the key performance indicators for management approval.

Generic Duties of the Position:

• Consultancy/advisory role of the procurement committee
• Technical evaluation and rating document preparation
• Prepare, communicate and implement work schedules for the consultant role
• Coordinate and supervise daily operations and service delivery within the consultant section.
• Provide support to the evaluation committee in all matters related to the management and supervision of subordinates, operations, and resources within the sourcing process  

Job Requirements

What are we looking for? The basics

• Master’s degree in applied chemistry or related fields with five (5) years of demonstrated experience

OR

• Bachelor’s degree in applied chemistry or related fields with seven (7) years of demonstrated experience

What would get us excited?

• More than five years of experience in a chemical production sector
• More than three years of supervision or managerial role in a chemical manufacturing firm
• Experience in water treatment chemicals preferably, in Chlorine manufacturing is highly recommended
• Experience in a consultancy and advisory role
