We are pleased to announce the following vacancy for Senior Accountant-Revenue Reporting within Finance Function in Ethiopia. In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below.

Detailed Description

Reporting to the Manager-Financial Reporting, Controls and Compliance, the role holder will be responsible for;

  • Ensuring that journal entries, reconciliations and reports into the General Ledger are accurate and complete.
  • Ensure complete monthly reporting on revenue within the company timelines.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure revenue transactions are updated to the General ledger at least on a daily basis.
  • Ensure subsidiary ledger balances are reconciled to the general ledger control accounts at least on a monthly basis ensuring all issues are resolved.
  • Prepare process documents for managing the reporting of revenues including determining SLAs and ensuring that they are adopted across teams
  • Reconcile and Liaise with revenue support functions, Viz RA, BI etc to ensure all issues raised are solved within approved SLA
  • Maintain accounting periods opened and closed at the right time and ensure that no transactions are posted to incorrect accounting period.
  • Process any journals required to general ledger and institute the discipline of processing at least 99% of transactions through subsidiary ledgers
  • Prepare monthly revenues schedule including the supporting KPIs to support the performance of various revenue lines
  • Provide guidance to the business on proper application of IFRS on revenue reporting.
  • Engage the business segments on an ongoing basis to ensure product constructs are in compliance with reporting standard
  • Prepare revenue and trend analysis to ensure any unusual movements from month to month are identified and proper explanations provided while initiating the process of reporting revenue
  • Ensure all profit and loss revenue schedules are reviewed and by WD2, properly supported by balance sheet movements. Review all the company products on an ongoing basis and ensuring that revenue reporting process for each is compliant with IFRS 15 reporting requirements.
  • Track and review all GSM revenue lines on a daily basis ensuring that all dashboards are updated with accurate and timely information.
  • Ensure a 360-degree check on revenues confirming this is supported by the movement in the deferred accounts.
  • Aligning all revenue process to ensure reports and trends are available on a timely basis to allow the business and management to make decisions promptly.
  • Engage the various stakeholders in revenue generation and reporting channels providing support required to deliver quality and exciting products to the customer, including CBU, EBU, RA, BI, CBS and FP&A.
  • Regularly share a dashboard of the key insights on revenue performance and key call outs on any trends that need to be addressed by management.

Job Requirements

Requirements

  • Qualified Accountant CPA /ACCA/CIMA/ACA and a member of a professional body with a finance or related Honors degree from a recognized university 
  • 2-3 years Accounting experience in a well-run company
  • At least 2 years at a supervisory level Extensive experience in preparing cash forecasts and cash flow analyses
  • Experience in building complex financial models to evaluate various financial plans.
