Reach for Change Ethiopia in collaboration with the IKEA Foundation launched a program entitled “ETHIOPIA’S GREEN FUTURE”. Reach for Change envisions a green, sustainable economy in Ethiopia where everyone has the opportunity to have a decent quality of life and reach their full potential. The Program is Inspiring green growth and catalyzing the green economy for sustainable livelihoods in Ethiopia. This project will contribute to our vision by piloting an approach to inspire young people to want to start sustainable, green businesses, and to then support them to do so. In doing so, we aim to cultivate a strong pipeline of new green enterprise startups that will create green jobs.
The Program Officer under the supervision of the Startup Program Manager will be responsible for providing management and technical assistance in day to day implementation of the ETHIOPIA’S GREEN FUTURE program.
The program officer is expected to carry out routine activity planning and implementation of field level activities; coordinate and monitor/supervise timely implementation of project activities. He/She will be responsible for organizing and facilitating training, coaching sessions, call to actions, conducting regular site visits, and providing technical assistance for program participants. Moreover, he/she will actively contribute to documentation and reporting of program achievements and knowledge sharing.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist Startup program manager and the program team in organizing program activities, including; rapid assessments; organize training and coaching sessions; provide support for external local training consultants and coaches; scheduling program meetings with partners etc.
- Contribute to the design and preparation of training materials; ensure collection of documentation and information (report, attendance list, photo, material, etc.)
- Support in search and selection process of running competitions to find high-potential entrepreneurs,
- Help identify and evaluate high potential youth entrepreneurs actively involved in the delivery of a strong Green Entrepreneurial Boot camp, and green innovation lab program, ensuring all participants have the support they need.
- Lead and conduct post training follow up supervision and mentoring to training and coaching service providers to ensure skill retention; and systematically document the support.
- Contribute to program reports including weekly reports, quarterly reports and
other program reports and work plan; Update indicator tracking tables periodically and keep records of verification documents.
- Take minutes of program meetings and serve as rapporteur for program team as needed;
- Support in collecting baseline and routine monitoring data based on key project indicators; closely working with the M&E team.
- Play an active role in organizing donor or partner visits to project sites through
involving in drafting terms of references, working with program teams to identify sites and drafting detailed visit schedules, facilitating logistics to ensure smooth conduct of the visits.

Job Requirement
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree in social sciences such as economics, education, economics, business management, or related field required.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in Entrepreneurship or business skill development and has practical fieldwork and experience in NGO.
- Ethiopian national residing in Ethiopia.

- Demonstrated ability to work sensitively with diverse people, cultures, and communities
- Computer proficiency in MS Applications including Excel, MS Word and
Power Point; and internet navigation.
- Ability to work proactively and independently, organize and manage own work.
- Good command in spoken and written English and proficiency in Amharic and relevant local language.
