We offer a wide range of products ranging from dried nuts and seeds, fruit products, cocoa, sweeteners and oils. We are a part of Amsterdam Commodities N.V. (Acomo), an international listed company active in the worldwide sourcing, processing, trading, packaging and distribution of natural food products and ingredients. Sunvado is Tradin Organics’ processing facility for premium organic avocado oil. The processing facility is located in the heart of our organic avocado growing region, about 300km south of Addis Ababa. We work with over 50,000 organic avocado farmers, who provide the raw material for the factory. From the Sunvado processing facility we produce two types of oils: organic extra virgin avocado oil and refined avocado oil.Sunvado also accommodates Tradin Organics’ organic sesame sourcing operations in different regions all over Ethiopia.

For our organic avocado oil and sesame operation we are looking for a

Project coordinator Ethiopia (based in Ethiopia)

Since 2017,Sunvado is working with different local and international partner organizations that support our team to achieve development impact beyond purely commercial goals. Different programs have been set up to support knowledge dissemination in the field and factory, research and piloting of innovative business approaches. The project coordinator will be responsible to coordinate and evaluate the different programs and work closely with our sourcing-, commercial- and finance department. You will report to the General Manager Ethiopia and Sourcing Managers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:                     

  • Further developing, coordinating, monitoring, and assessing of technical assistance programs in close collaboration with different Sunvado teams and development partners (GIZ, IFC, NCF)
  • Responsible for the accurate implementation of activities under these programs, including procurement and administrative procedures
  • being a focal point for Sunvado staff for procurement of goods and services, and responsible for collection, checking and administering of invoices, receipts and proof of payments according to contractual procurement procedures
  • proactively providing information, summaries, and financial statements to Tradin’s sourcing department in the Netherlands, in line with reporting requirements
  • Structure and make accessible all information related to the different programs
  • Prepare regular update reports and proactively schedule meetings with all stakeholders
  • Documentation for sustainability and impact reporting

Employment Type;       

  •  The contract will preferably start in November 2021 and will last for 6 months, with aim for extension depending on the results of the first period.

Job Requirements

Qualifications/ Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written in English and Amharic
  • Strong IT skills, MS Office proficiency, especially Excel

  • Passion for producing results that have an impact
  • Knowledge of Axapta or other ERP systems is a plus

Education

  • A Bachelor or Master’s degree in an agribusiness/ operations management, supply chain management or development related field

Experience

  • Experience in project management
  • Knowledge of development program implementation, subsidy administration and monitoring and evaluation
  • Field experience in low-income countries, preferably in Africa/ Ethiopia, is a strong asset
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and work with minimal direction
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work in multicultural team and with people at all levels
  • Detail-oriented and structured work approach
  • Ability to adapt and work independently in a challenging working environment
  • Proficiency in English. Good writing skills.
  • Amharic is a plus.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
