Job Description

Overview of role

The position holder supports the development and implementation of the Integrated Youth Activity (IYA), providing expertise on the design and implementation of Social and Behavior Change (SBC) activities of the project. These activities cover multiple issues including peace and security, education, health, economic development, and others. The program design includes media campaigns, youth and community engagement activities, capacity strengthening and leveraging technology to provide access to information and services for youth. 

Specific Roles and Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide expert guidance and technical leadership in the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of SBC design and implementation for the IYA
  • Support the development of youth-focused SBC and related strategies
  • Work with project team to implement youth and community engagement activities to improve youth behaviors, and encourage community services
  • Support the development and integration of gender transformative and social inclusion approaches in all SBC activities under the IYA
  • Work with the IYA Advisor and other relevant project teams to develop and pretest SBC tools, materials and guidelines
  • Work with CCP’s media team to ensure that media outputs address relevant youth issues and are produced and disseminated in a timely manner
  • Ensure that all communication materials are disseminated according to plan reaching intended audiences
  • Provide input in the development of periodic work plans, budgets and reports as required
  • Support the design and execution of SBC capacity strengthening initiatives under the IYA
  • Organize review meetings, supportive supervisions and remote follow ups for all IYA related SBC activities
  • Support the development of Scope of Works and Terms of References for consultants and Short-Term Technical Assistances that may be required by the project
  • Represent CCP and coordinate with the consortium in different meetings, workshops and events as required
  • Undertake other duties as may be assigned by supervisors

Reports To:  Social and Behavior Change Advisor

Location of position: Addis Ababa with frequent field trip to project sites   

Required no. 1 (one)

Duration of Employment: 1 year with possible extension    

Job Requirements

Desired Qualification and Attributes

  • Masters degree in a relevant field and 3+ years relevant experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience leading and managing Social and Behavior Change activities, including media and community engagement
  • Proficiency in English and Amharic, knowledge of other Ethiopian languages is a plus
  • Working knowledge of multiple and multi-channel approaches of social and behavioral communication
  • Creative and strong written and oral communication
