Ethiopian Construction Design and Supervision Works Corporation (ECDSWCo.) is transforming and diversifying from the current consultancy business operations. Taking advantage of the existing ECDSWCo.’s strength and maximizing on the newly emerging external opportunities that are being prevalent with the shifts in Ethiopian Economic Policy – the Corporation is aiming to play a significant role in the success of the Ethiopian Construction Industry -by creating a vibrant business institution that will not only fill the gap that is in the current construction industry but also replace the need for having international construction companies that are dominating the government mega-scale projects.

To this, the Corporation is emerging as an Engineering and Investment Group. The proposed name of the Group is ‘’Ethiopian Engineering and Investment Group (EEIG)’’. The Group will comprise three main operational business units i.e., Consultancy, Construction and Investment.

EEIG-Construction business unit key activities are high-end complex construction projects, predominately high-rise commercial and residential buildings, real-estate; infrastructure (roads, railways and airports) & water and energy sector construction. EEIG-Construction alone would grow into a conglomerate of several business units including Piling, underground and foundation Works, Fit-Out, Energy (Solar Solutions), Electro-Mechanical Solution, Facility Management, Landscape and Construction Materials Production.

EEIG Construction is launched with the vision of being the best construction company in Ethiopia with a strategy of Timeously executing high-end complex projects, by utilizing proactive management skills as a Design and Build Contractor to achieve an optimum return and aspiring to be a competitive and preferred choice and deliver excellence.

Scope of Role

• Execute the QA QC activities of the project, from initiation to closeout ensuring the adherence to project schedule, specifications and drawings. 

Top Roles and Responsibilities: 

• Coordinate and Conduct Internal Material inspections with subcontractors to verify the compliance to the specifications.
• Coordinate and conduct material inspections with consultant.
• Ensure all rejected materials from internal and consultant inspections are tagged and removed from the site.
• Coordinate and conduct internal work inspections with subcontractor to verify the compliance to drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate and conduct work inspections with consultant, communicate the inspection comments to subcontractor for implementation.
• Ensure that subcontractors are adhering to their ITP and ensure that inspections are raised accordingly.
• Conduct site surveillance, identify and record the deficiencies.
• Ensure that corrective and preventive actions are implemented on site to prevent recurring NCRs. Conduct internal inspections to verify the implementation of corrective actions.
• Coordinate with subcontractor, third-party laboratories and consultants for various field tests.
• Organize / conduct internal and subcontractor audits.
• Coordinate/follow up with subcontractors for the project close out documents.
• Coordinate and Conduct internal snagging with subcontractors, prepare internal sang list.
• Coordinate and conduct snagging inspections with consultant.
• Coordinate with subcontractor for completing the corrective actions and conduct internal inspections to verify the implementation.
• Coordinate and Conduct inspections with consultant to close the snags recorded.
• In addition, lead document control activities and build team capability for the Document control team. 

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Experience Required:

• 6+ years of work experience.
• BSc degree in Civil Engineering or related field from a recognized University.
• Candidates having international experience or have worked for international company here in Ethiopia will be given priority. 
• Construction Company experience and or having worked for consultant is an added advantage

Other requirements;

• Candidate must know that he/she will have frequent travel to project sites anywhere in Ethiopia. He/She might also be based in project sites as deemed necessary for the period of the project.
