Reports to: General Services Supervisor /Finance and Admin Coordinator

Based in: No Duty station

Duration of contract: Indefinite based on performance and availability of funds.

Remuneration: As per the organization pay scale plus other PSI/Ethiopia staff benefits

We are looking for a Security Guard to keep the safety and security of staff, visitors, and properties of the organization by following and applying proper security procedures in maintaining the security of the office compound and vehicles parked inside and outside the compound.

Key Result Areas:

  • Safety and security (e.g., safeguarding office compound, vehicles)
  • Customer handling (e.g., welcoming guests)

Your contribution

  • Check the inside and outside conditions of the office premises, residences, warehouses and stores.
  • Act in self-defense against saboteurs, burglars and thieves and immediately call on the police or any concerned authority for assistance.
  • Keep records of incidents on a daily register book.
  • Ensure that no organization property leaves the compound without proper authorization.
  • Guide visitors to the receptionist or appropriate person in the office.
  • Operate the generator automatically when the office power is off.
  • Check all necessary utilities (e.g., water, gas) and any needs for the generator and contact the General Service Assistant when there is any additional need.
  • Check and register every property and documents every time when starting work and switching with the other security guards.
  • Check whom visitors want to contact, confirm with internal telephone and register every client or visitor when they are coming to the organization.
  • Check the functionality of firefighting equipment and expiry dates and related issues.
  • Check every car and loaded materials when it is parked during evening time.

  •  10th-grade completion & Military or police training with two years of experience as a security guard
