Job Description

FH Ethiopia would like to invite potential candidates to apply for the following positions: 

Positions: Data Encoder and Clerk ( 5 for ICD projects )    

Duty Station: (Diga, Sasiga & Zeway - Oromia), (Shebedino - Sidama) and (Angacha -SNNPR)

Duration of Contract:  One-year contract (Renewable with 60 working days probation)

Salary: As Per the Salary Scale of the Organization

Closing date: October 13, 2021

Job Summary

Responsible to properly organize and manage, encode and enter all WL-world link data of all sectors (Livelihood and Food Security, Health and Nutrition; Education, DRR) that comes from all ICD projects operational areas for entry, review, encode and check up by shared by officers in each projects timely on monthly basis.

Principal Responsibilities

Key Result #1 –Data Encoding, entry and follow up  

  1. Enter data in to computer using FHE’s methodology and data management software of WL3 for all major sectors comes from the projects
  2. Responsible for data entry obtained from different studies and surveys into statistical or database management software as appropriate
  3. Assist in processing and compiling; cleaning all data sets obtained from project officers for direct activities/output in WL3
  4. Maintain proper safe keeping of data files, documents from beneficiary targeting of all sectors in WL3
  5. Check the accuracy of Data
  6. Organize and name data storage locations
  7. Update databases
  8. Receive and save electronic data for individual registration in WL3 for all sectors
  9. Cross check the data collected on the field, synchronize timely.
  10. Report data inserted in to the software to immediate supervisors timely.
  11. Attend training on data entry and report to supervisors.

  • Refrain from any comments or gestures that indicate prejudicial views of female staff, especially female supervisors.
  • In each Project and Head Office, ask women staff what changes would make it more “gender-friendly”, organization and implement the recommendations

Safety & Security Responsibility

  • Each FHE staff member should adhere to all pertinent policies concerning safety and security policy of FH. Lapses in safe conduct can jeopardize the health and welfare of all staff.
  • Every FHE staff member has an obligation to learn and understand the security situation where they are located. 
  • Each FHE staff member should adhere to all pertinent policies concerning safety and security. This includes, but not limited to, personal safety, road safety, etc.
  • He/she has a responsibility to become familiar to social, cultural and other associated features of their duty stations;
  • Abstains from inappropriate or offensive behavior that can put FHE in a difficult position, impair operations, and jeopardize the health and welfare of all staff of FHE.
  • All FHE staff should promotes safe conducts and exercises caution in all work activities; staff should accountable for own personal and professional actions and conduct;

Experience

  • 0-1 year related experience in a relevant position Preferably in INGO Setting

Education/Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, statistics or relevant field of Study.

Distinguishing Competencies

  • Strong computer skill and knowledge in the area of MS word, MS Excel, MS Access, PowerPoint and email communication
  • High level of initiative taking

Language

  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English. Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
