Job Summary:
Strategically manages PurposeBlack Eth warehouse which involves receiving, warehousing and distribution operations. This includes overseeing the receipt, storage, value-adding servicing and dispatch of a wide variety of products. The manager ensures that all warehouse processes are running smoothly and properly. He/she is responsible for planning, directing, and supervising the warehouse functions.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensures that proper inspection, receiving, recording, warehousing, distribution and stock movement handling activities and processes are carried out in compliance with set policies and procedures.
- Manages warehouse human resources as per the company rules and regulations.
- Plans and implements systematic and organized arrangement of shelves to ensure easy locating of items within the warehouse.
- Setup layout and ensure efficient space utilization
- Ensures proper storage to protect items from dust, damage, fire hazard, rust, excessive heat, etc.
- Ensures recording, distribution and reporting systems are properly in place and functioning well.
- Ensures proper handling of inventory.
- Manages damage, waste and obsolete products.
- Initiate, coordinate and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures.
- Introduces best warehousing practices.
- Adhere to all warehousing, handling and shipping legislation requirements
- Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security
- Manage stock control and reconcile with data storage system
- Prepare annual budget.
- Liaise with clients, suppliers and transport companies
- Recruit, select, orient, coach and motivate employees
- Produce reports and statistics regularly (IN/OUT status report, dead stock report, etc)
- Receive feedback and monitor the quality of services provided
- Perform other related activities.
Requirements
- Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices
- Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Hands-on experience with warehouse management software and databases
- Leadership skills and ability to manage staff
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Customer satisfaction-oriented and team-spirited.
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
- MA or BA degree in Logistics, Supplies Management, Procurement, Management, Business Administration or related fields
- Considerable knowledge of warehousing.
EXPERIENCE:
- 5 years or relevant work experience.
