Terms of Reference for
Bid for accessibility modification work at Hann Health Center, Bahirdar town
Introduction
Ethiopian Center for Disability and Development (ECDD) is an Ethiopian Development Organization established in 2005 and reregistered at Agency for Civil Society Organizations as Ethiopian development Organization with Certificate no. 0321 under the Proc. No. 1113/2019.
ECDD is working with other organizations to promote and facilitate the inclusion of persons with disabilities and disability issues in mainstream service delivery and development programs envisioning an Inclusive Ethiopia where persons with disabilities exercise the same rights and have access to the same services and opportunities enjoyed by other citizens.

ECDD has been is implementing a three year project funded by United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) to increase access to and use of Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) services among Adolescent and Youth with Disabilities in seven selected towns. The ECDD plans to complete the unfinished health center accessibility modifications of Hann health center in Baihirdar town, as part of the UNFPA-funded SRH+ project, in order to make the facility physically accessible to Adolescents and Youth with Disabilities for SRH services in its current phase and handover.
With this regard, ECDD is looking for a competent consultant/Firm for accessibility modification construction work of Hann Health center of specified places (document enclosed with the detail modification is attached with this post).
Objectives for modifying the Health Center
- To encourage and increase the use of SRH services by adolescents and youth with disabilities at Hann Center
- To develop a model that depicts physical accessibility and can thus be replicated by other health care facilities with a plan for including people with disabilities in service delivery
- Demonstrate how disability inclusion works in practice
Desired Services: The potential Contractor or construction firm is expected to accomplish the following services:
- Work on and /or finalize the recommended construction works according to the design and specification provided
- Work collaboratively with and report the progress to ECDD and the architect consultant
- Submit reports and take off sheet upon requesting any payments
Job Requirements
Eligibility: Required Capacity and Skills
Potential Contractor or construction firm having the following competencies/skills and capacities are eligible to apply for this short-term consultancy service.
- Contractors Licensed in GC Grade 7 and above are eligible to participate. The License should be Valid for the Year.
- Commitment to meet the given deadlines
