Job Description

As an International Christian Humanitarian Development organization, World Vision Ethiopia (WVE) is trusted to deliver integrated programs with target communities through its 51 Area programs (APs) located in seven regional states of the country. WVE envisions a thriving organization where our strong leadership at all levels results in improved delivery of results for children.

Purpose of the position:

The purpose of this position is to plan and execute the production of a wide range of written, video, and photographic communications resources/materials and manage platforms linked to the five focus areas of WV Communications that help profile and market World Vision International humanitarian and emergency response work, both at local and international levels.

Produce compelling needs and impact-focused content for the Northern Ethiopia Response and World Vision Ethiopia to fulfill the marketing and accountability needs of the organization. Manage World Vision Ethiopia’s reputation and influence through content creation, effective media relations, and enhanced Digital Engagement.

Job Requirements

Education

  • Masters or Bachelor Degree in Journalism and Communications, Public Relations, English Language and Literature, Political Science and International Relations or any other related courses. Emergency Communications training is an added advantage.

Experience/background:

  • Minimum 5 years professional experience in Media and journalism, and/or in Emergency Communications in a multi-cultural, child-focused, non-profit/corporate, and/or humanitarian organization.
  • Demonstrated experience managing corporate partnerships and developing major donor relationships
  • Advanced level of computer proficiency, Mac and PC
  • Proven experience of training and capacity building of others
  • Experience working with children and youth

Special criteria 

  • Working on Emergency related Project.

Working Environment / Conditions:

Work environment: Office-based

Travel: Frequent travel to Emergency project site,

On call: 25%
