Job Overview

 As a Senior System Administrator, is responsible for monitoring system performance, IT system operations and storage utilization. Plans ahead for necessary hardware and software upgrades to support system growth. Manages user accounts and assets, and assigns and updated security permissions on the network according to security policy.

Since business simply can’t afford to be without individual workstations let alone its entire computer system, you have a pivotal role in the running of the company.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Configure internal systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues.
• Supervise the Operations team.
• Upgrade the network infrastructure.
• Install servers, devices and firewalls.
• Train new system users and set up their accounts.
• Monitor the performance of servers, software and hardware.
• Ensure the smooth deployment of new applications.
• Update technical documentation.
• Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls.
• Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies.
• Managing domains, auditing user permissions across platforms.
• Developing strategies for disaster recovery.
• Ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.
• Designing, improving and troubleshooting networks.
• Testing and evaluating new technology.
• Manage servers and technology tools.
• Provides support with escalated help desk requests.
• Leads team of systems administrators, coordinates with different departments.

Job Requirements

Requirement:

• Experience: More than 5 years of relevant experience     

Education:

• Computer Science (BSc)
• Computer Engineering (BSc)
• Preferably certified with CCNA, CCNP, Microsoft Server

Senior System Administrators are expected to display

•  A technical, logical thought process
• Problem-solving skills
• An ability to stick to strict deadlines
•  An ability to prioritize and delegate
• A keen eye for detail
• Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator or similar role
• Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management
• Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
