Duty station: - Addis Ababa office and willing to transfer to our project site (Asosa) as directed by the company.
Kurmuk Gold Mine PLC would like to invite competent, energetic and qualified applicants for the following vacancy announcement.
Brief outline of duties:
- We are looking for one to two-year experienced Junior accountant to oversee general accounting operations by controlling and verifying our financial transactions. The junior accountant will report to Finance Head.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintaining accounts receivable, document bills and supporting documentation
- Maintaining accounts payable, ensure timely payment of invoices, confirming validity of the debt and gathering appropriate signatures
- Updating financial records via accounting software
- Gathering payroll expenses and input into appropriate entry line
- Assist in preparation of yearly budget, filling of tax, tax refund and annual statuary reports.
- Assist in the monthly, quarterly and yearly closing of Accounts
- Experienced in Ethiopia monthly, quarterly and yearly tax filing requirements.
Job Requirements
Skills and Qualifications
- A Minimum of BA degree in Accounting, Finance, Management or related fields preferable with an international organization
- At least 1-2 years of relevant work experience
- Has to demonstrate sound knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
- Strong computer skills in MS Office programs and organizational skills as well as attention to detail
- Has to do a regular site visit to facilitate a timely closing of accounts from project site
- Excellent oral and written English, communication and human interaction skills
- Communicates with other units in project site to strengthen & improve the finance department of the main project office in Assosa
