About DPO

Development For Peace Organization (DPO) is one of the Non-Governmental Humanitarian organizations. DPO is being implementing various Humanitarian projects in both Emergency and Development settings in Different Regional States of the country.

Job Purpose

MEAL Officer mainly responsible for operationalize and improve the MEAL system, which heavily relies on a set of interrelated data collection tools and management systems. The position will report to the Director General.

Mani Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Contribute in the role-out of the MEAL Framework in the field by partnering with Regional coordinator including implementation of results-oriented monitoring system;
  • Support the RC and project staff in ensuring that MEAL standards are adhered to along the project cycle phases;
  • Support to / facilitate streamlining of the MEAL as per requirements from the project staff;
  • Establish and execute monthly and weekly monitoring work plans;
  • Ensure proper monthly, quarterly and bi-annual results-based reporting and data collection, and regular collection of information according to the objective (s) and results of the project.
  • Set up & maintain MEAL data base;
  • Develop the capacities of project staff and monitoring and evaluation of the projects according to the MEAL framework;
  • Support evaluations and audit missions by providing relevant information and through coordination;
  • Facilitate and organize the application of MEAL tools and ensure the application of it in the entire program;
  • Supporting the country office project/ program team in designing/developing of projects including log frame;
  • Supporting partner organizations in the conduct of baseline/feasibility studies in the project areas and/or be responsible for outsourcing;
  • Leading on the identification of case studies and lessons learned and contribute to the dissemination of those lessons and best practices with partners and other stakeholders, and across the organization;
  • Ensuring donor and requirements on documentation of the projects.
  • Conduct Post Distribution Monitoring (PDM) using KOBO
  • Performs any additional activities as per the request.

Job Requirements

Min. Education

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Developmental Studies, Rural Development and Local Study (RDLS), Statics, Economics or other related fields

 Experiences

  • Professional experience in a similar position 5 years for BA/BSC or 3 years for MA/MSC
  • Expertise in Monitoring, evaluation and result-based reporting, including excellent reporting and writing skills
  • Experience in working for international donor agencies or NGOs
  • Experience in capacity building of partners
  • Experience using of KOBO system
