Cadila Pharmaceuticals (Ethiopia) P.L.C, a Joint Venture Company between Cadila Pharmaceuticals Limited, India and Almeta Impex P.L.C, Ethiopia, put up a Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing facility for Tablets, Capsules & Liquids at Akaki, near Addis Ababa. The aforementioned Plant is one of its kinds in Ethiopia and the first and only Pharmaceutical Formulation Manufacturing Plant of the country recognized as per EU guide lines, to comply with the WHO led regulatory requirements of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).

 Major Responsibilities:

• To ensure that all instruments in the microbiology lab have the necessary current revised SOPs.
• To ensure that the instruments are calibrated as per schedule and the necessary records are maintained.
• To ensure that calibrated instruments are labeled with necessary tag.
• To prepare media and perform the necessary microbiological analysis on different raw materials, water samples, finished products and stability samples.
• To perform environmental monitoring of the different manufacturing lines.
• Ensure that used culture media are properly disinfected and sterilized and disposed of as per procedure.
• To involve in the preparation and revision of standard test procedures and specifications on microbiological analysis for RMs, PMs, and FPs.
• Prepare and revise formats being used for the lab.
• Prepare SOPs for the activities being done at the laboratory and ensure their proper implementation.
• Ensure that records are filled and documented.
• To involve in technical troubleshooting and problem solving
• Responsible for the inventory of culture media, and other necessary items for the laboratory.
• Suggest any ideas for implementation that may help on the improvement of quality system.
• To facilitate for various audits and ensure that compliance reports are documented
• Prepare report on monthly events carried out in the laboratory.
• To ensure that the laboratory is maintained clean & tidy as per SOP.
