We are pleased to announce the following vacancy for a Terminals Manager within Safaricom Telecommunications Plc. In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below:

Detailed Description

Reporting to the EHOD Consumer Segments and Regional Go to Market, the role holder will be responsible for managing the terminals activities in the organization through effectively onboarding and managing new and existing terminal suppliers to achieve the desired commercial terms for terminals acquisition. He/she will also be responsible for coordinating and managing new product testing for the agreed upon portfolio/proposition in consultation with relevant functions

Job Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Define and agree the terminals service implementation scope with the user functions and translate this into services requirements for the various portfolios.
  • Achieve devices sales target through Safaricom shops, dealer network, key accounts and open market.
  • Ensure highest level of integrity through reinforcing high ethical and compliance standards in the terminals acquisition, sales and distribution processes.
  • Report on the business’ terminals portfolio and revenue.

Product development & Testing

  • Develop and implement a quality assurance process to ensure all subsequent
  • batches of deliveries of terminals are tested and maintain agreed quality standards and features.
  • Coordinate all technical projects on terminals with across different departments and functions guided by the defined Terminal strategy and supported by technology and market trends.
  • Ensure adherence to Safaricom quality standards for all terminals acquired by the business.

Contracting

  • Onboarding new vendors aligned to the terminal strategy.
  • Relationship management of new and existing vendors
  • Periodic Supplier performance management x
  • Pipelining for new suppliers based on innovations roadmap.

Job Requirements

Qualifications 

  • Degree in a Business-related field
  • Proven experience in product marketing or product development, preferably in a cross-functional set up.
  • Good knowledge of mobile voice and data services
  • 5-7 years hands on experience in a FMCG or service sector of which 3 years must have been in a senior sales position, preferably in a fast-moving consumer goods company or Mobile telephone Company
  • Highly results and performance oriented
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Excellent team player with good Leadership/mentoring/management skills.
  • Developing external partnerships and strategic alliances
  • Excellent Negotiation/Influencing and Presentation skills
