About DPO

Development for Peace Organization (DPO) is one of the Non-Governmental Humanitarian organizations. DPO is being implementing various Humanitarian projects in both Emergency and Development settings in Different Regional States of the country.

Job Purpose

The Regional Coordinator reports to the Program Director and responsible to manage the grass root implementation of the project and lead the project staffs and closely work with the woreda, zonal and regional stakeholders to achieve the planned objectives. The RC will participate in sub national cluster meeting, ensure smooth communication with donors representatives at regional level, participate in the GO-NGO forums and facilitate and ensure enabling environment for the project staffs.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate the recruitment of regional staff and coordinate their efforts in support of organizational goals;
  • Assume responsibility for the support of Members throughout the Region utilizing the organization resource;
  • Support the Work with the relevant regional and HQ personnel to see that all relevant program start up and planning tools are developed;
  • Provide technical and management support to the regional officers to coordinate overall program implementation across the region;
  • Supervise and guide staff based in regional office, and coordinate with Operations; Manager, Finance Manager, and other staff in Addis Ababa regarding human resources management and training needs;
  • Lead the development of any additional program documentation that may be requested the program lead;
  • with partners, at both strategic and operational levels and play active role in the planning, monitoring and review of projects in line with the donors’ and government guidelines;
  • Review travel and task related Terms of References (ToR), car rental and advance requests from the field level project coordinators and share with the HQ personnel with the proper review;
  • Ensure accountability through monitoring of effective physical implementation of the projects and financial utilizations;
  • Contribute and actively involved in proposal writing by closely working with HO personnel;
  • Make sure that procurement of items are timely done and reaches the destination for its purpose;
  • Performs any additional activities as requested

Job Requirements

Min. Education

  • BSc/BA or MA/MSC in in social work, management, economics, or other related fields

Experiences

  • Minimum 5 years for BA/BSC or 3 years for MA/MSC
  • Experience with supervision roles for tasks of a similar nature to this assignment
  • Proven experience in project management, budgeting and record keeping
