Daye Bensa Coffee Export PLC, Ethiopian company specialized in production, trading and exportation of different coffee to expand worldwide market. The company, established in 2006 is based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and currently employs 150 persons.

Daye Bensa Coffee Export Plc is one of major coffee exporting companies in Ethiopia exporting green coffee directly from its own farm and affiliated farmers. The company operates in production, trading and exportation of coffee and their main product is green Ethiopian Arabica coffee. According to the company their SIDAMO coffee is certified as organic and their coffee is of good quality, sustainable and traceable.

The customers so far have been Europe, USA and ASIA. The company’s Ethiopian washed and natural coffee has been exported via major global traders such as Volcafe, NKG and Groupimpex. Over 50 % of companies operations are international.

Sector/Function: Import & Export Documentation Officer

Department: Import Export

Division: Import Export and Quality control

Reporting To: Import Export Manager

Duty Station: Head Office (Addis Ababa, Jacros around Robera coffee)

Purpose of the Job:

To establish and deliver all shipments conform to those rules and protocols by

  • minimizing chances for problematic shipments,
  • Planning, coordinating and advising for all import export documentation duties

Key Result Areas:

  • Import export documentation and retrieval.
  • Accurate and timely report of import & export documentation

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Expertise in sea and air freight import export documentation.
  • Ensure that all import & exports are documented correctly.
  • Ensure that export laws and regulations for export consignments under diverse payment terms are adhered to.
  • Submit timely document directives to independent surveyors and freight forwarders to necessitate timely processing of exports.
  • Maintain up-to-date export files in a structured and catalogued system
  • Provide advice on the most affordable mode of transport to facilitate cost effectiveness.
  • Monitor and communicate the latest modifications in import & export procedure and guidelines to merchants assisting in the preparation of commercial documents that conform to the customs laws.
  • Verify freight received against receipt information and documentation.
  • Check inbound documentation for accuracy prior to reception and annotate receiving documentation with shortages, overages and damages.
  • Confirm cargo labels and obtains correct signature from warehouse upon complete loading
  • Discover compliance risks and generates risk assessment measures to ensure the daily operations are delivered in a timely manner.
  • Design and implementation of all import & export plans and activities, ensuring conformity to all project requirements.

Qualification and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business Administration, and Supply chain Management, Economics or related fields with FOUR (4) years of demonstrated experience in the coffee, sesame and other related edible export company only.
