Vacancy Announcement

Ohio State Global One Health, LLC (Ohio State GOH, LLC) is an affiliate entity of The Ohio State University working extensively on a range of One Health-related projects targeting laboratory, surveillance, and healthcare (both human and animal) workforce capacity strengthening through applied education, training, and research throughout Ethiopia. Our organization would like to invite interested professionals to apply for the following vacant positions for the implementation of the project.  

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate project activities including initiation, development, and implementation of projects.
  • Plan, schedule, and attend meetings with administrative and technical team members to support implementation and management of the grant(s).
  • Provide overall project administration for the grant(s) through planning, organization, coordination, and timeline management.
  • Maintain routine communication with project Principal Investigator (s), co-investigators, technical team members, internal and external business partners, and sponsor counterparts on various grant(s) management, implementation, and reporting priorities.
  • Produce qualitative and quantitative project documentations including project plan, budget and schedules.
  • Coordinate and follow project teams to complete projects within allotted timelines and budgets.
  • Coordinate and assist in employee recruitment, training, performance evaluation, promotion and termination activities.
  • Act as primary contact for project communications. facilitate communications and partnership between Head Quarter Office and stakeholders and between Regional Office and Head Quarters
  • Monitor project progress, implementation status, and report regularly to the Technical Director.
  • Review and approve monthly project invoices from the sub-awardee(s) to ensure compliance with sponsor requirements. Coordinate with OSU internal business partners to process invoices in a timely manner. Collaborate with sub-awardee team members to resolve invoice-related inquires and ensure adequate documentation for grant compliance.
  • Manage post-award grant budget, work plan development for OSU-related costs, and act as key contact providing project management support during sub-awardee budget and work plan development. Manage budget and work plan modifications for internal documentation and sponsor approval in coordination with OSU project PI’s, OSU internal business partners, and sub-awardee.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Technical Director

Employment type: Full time one-year contract with a possibility of renewal up on availability of funds and successful performance up on evaluation.

Job Requirements

Required Qualification and Work Experience

  • The candidate must hold a minimum of Master’s Degree in health related fields Or MD degree with strong experience in Project Management and Coordination
  • Having of PhD degree is a plus
  • Additional trainings related to managing health related projects
  • A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in project management in the health sector
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Excellent working relationship with senior level public and private sector leaders.
  • Experience on public health, emergency management, medicine, and/or veterinary medicine focused in leading capacity building initiatives in developing countries.
  • The Project Managers needs to possess strong program and project management skills, strong analytical abilities, and familiarity with health system and development processes.

Adjunct skills Required for all positions

  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent facilitation skills, and strong understanding of how to safely and accurately collect feedback from key stakeholders
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks; proven self-initiative and problem solving abilities and proven track record of quality performance in highly pressured environments
  • Computer skills, including Word, Excel, Power-Point, and Access
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision making capabilities based on use of data
