Job Description

Project HOPE is an international NGO of more than 500 engaged employees and hundreds of volunteers who work in more than 25 countries, responding to the world’s most pressing global health challenges Project HOPE seeks experienced professionals to support an anticipated evaluation project in Ethiopia. This anticipated project will be for seven months. These positions are contingent upon award.

  • REPORTS TO: Director of Programs Implementation with a dotted line to the Care and Support Advisor
  • DUTY STATION: Addis Ababa
  • DURATION OF CONTRACT: 20 days between January 1-30, 2022

 Purpose of the assignment

The purpose of this consultancy is to develop the “Non-discrimination, duty to treat, informed consent and confidentiality, violence prevention and treatment” training manual.

Objectives of the assignment

  1. Develop training curriculum on “Non-discrimination, duty to treat, informed consent and confidentiality, violence prevention and treatment” by adapting or designing new content that help support ongoing community-based HIV prevention, care, and treatment services provision.
  2. Provide a three-day TOT for the PH and LIPs staffs on “Non-discrimination, duty to treat, informed consent and confidentiality, violence prevention and treatment”

Tasks

  • Collect, review, and evaluate all PEPFAR, USAID and National guidelines, SOPs and training manuals related to “Non-discrimination, duty to treat, informed consent and confidentiality, violence prevention and treatment”.
  • Develop training manual and materials on “Non-discrimination, duty to treat, informed consent and confidentiality, violence prevention and treatment”
  • Prepare the “Non-discrimination, duty to treat, informed consent and confidentiality, violence prevention and treatment” job aids and SBCC materials.
  • Provide the three days TOT for LIP and project HOPE staffs.
  • Prepare summary reports of the TOT training.
  • Work in close collaboration with the project HOPE care and support team in order to achieve the training objective and goal.
  • Execute other related tasks and assignments through guidance from immediate supervisor.

Deliverables

  • Developed “Non-discrimination, duty to treat, informed consent and confidentiality, violence prevention and treatment” training manual by referring PEPFAR, USAID and national guidelines and SOPs.
  • Deliver interactive presentation and effectively facilitate “Non-discrimination, duty to treat, informed consent and confidentiality, violence prevention and treatment” TOT to the selected LIP and PH staffs.
  • Developed job aids and SBCC materials that will help and guide the community HIV service providers (CHW).
  • Emphasizes on acquiring the essential knowledge, attitudes, motivation, and skills required to do a job, not simply acquiring new knowledge.
  • Collect daily evaluation of trainees compile and discuss with project HOPE staffs based on the trainee’s feedback, comment, and suggestions.
  • Provide pre and post training, knowledge assessment.
  • Finalize and submit the “Non-discrimination, duty to treat, informed consent and confidentiality, violence prevention and treatment” training documents after incorporating feedbacks that may be collected from the TOT participants.
  • Write a standard training report and submit as per the planned timeline.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • Candidates for this Consultancy position should hold at least a minimum of first degree in health and health related field and master’s degree in public health.
  • At least 10 years of experience related to professional/medical ethics and CRC principles particularly in the HIV services area, including training delivery, education, and material preparation.
  • Has training and experience in adult teaching methodologies
  • Experience in developing different manuals and guidelines
  • Knowledge on country’s HIV programs, community-based HIV service delivery
  • Prior experience in PEPFAR programming is preferable
  • Training on national CRC initiative
