Ohio State Global One Health, LLC (Ohio State GOH, LLC) is an affiliate entity of The Ohio State University working extensively on a range of One Health-related projects targeting laboratory, surveillance, and healthcare (both human and animal) workforce capacity strengthening through applied education, training, and research throughout Ethiopia. Our organization would like to invite interested professionals to apply for the following vacant positions for the implementation of a project on Adverse Events Following Immunization (AEFI).  

The position holder will have the following responsibilities:

• Assists in the development of database (web-based, application, desktop, ..)
• Check data for accuracy and completeness
• Catalogue the data with appropriate tags for reference
• Transferring data from paper formats into computer files or database systems
• Maintaining and updating the database system
• Ensure data confidentiality and security
• Generate periodic reports
• Work with the surveillance officers at sites in adapting and developing a data process that suits the activities of the study
• Follow quality assurance SOPs regarding data collection, security archiving, entry and analysis to ensure standardized, high-quality data are collected
• Participate in AEFI meetings, contribute to reports
• Execute other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor

Employment type – Full time one-year contract with a possibility of extension up on availability of funds and successful performance.

Line of responsibility - the data clerk will be directly responsible to the AEFI project coordinator

Place of work - Seconded to Tikur Anbessa Specialized Hospital, Addis Ababa

Job Requirements

Required Qualification and Experience

• BSc in Statistics, Health Informatics, Information Technology, Computer Science, or other related fields with at least 3 years practical experience in Health Data Management and Quality Assurance

• Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide range of people
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• A systematic approach to tasks, good interpretative skills, team work skills, excellent analytical skills, and good time management skills.
