The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH looking for Consulting firm to "Development of an online course based on the African Union Curriculum on Compliance and Accountability for Peace Support Operations
The GIZ APSA project supports the African Union Peace Support Operations Division (PSOD) in improving the professional standards in AU peacekeeping missions in compliance with human rights and UNSC Resolution 1325. In this regard, particular focus is placed on supporting the development and implementation of the AU compliance framework, which accounts for adherence to human rights and zero tolerance of sexual abuse. In order to effectively disseminate the compliance framework developed by the African Union Commission (AUC) and adopted by its Member States, a training package has been developed and piloted for standardized pre-mission and in-mission training of staff in African Peace Support Operations.
Period of assignment: February 03, 2022 to April 30, 2022 for up to 37 expert days.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/training:
- University qualification (Master) in computer sciences, media communication sciences or a similar field
- Language : Good business language skills in English and French
- General professional experience : 10 years of professional experience in the sector of developing online courses
- Specific professional experience : 5 years of experience in peace support operations
- Regional experience : 10 years of experience in projects Africa
- Development Cooperation (DC) experience : Previous working experience with the African Union, Regional Economic Communities or Development Cooperation projects
