Business Development Specialist Job Vacancy at World Vision Ethiopia

JOB PURPOSE 

 The position holder is required to support the design, development, establishment and standardization of IGA in the transitioning APs of WVE. The role is also expected to provide technical support to WVE profit making business as per ASCO proclamation, directives, business process and WVE NRD(National Resource Development) innovatively with required capacity. Furthermore, the position holder will also engage on the development of profitable innovative new business models to ensure IGA contribution to objectives of WVE.  

MAJOR RESPO MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Alignment

  • Support the development of new businesses that is in alignment with the FY21-25 NRD Strategy streams.
  • Develop WVE profit making business brands
  • Manage legal registration and licensing process of new IGA

IGA Stream Development

  • Coordinate feasibility study and market assessment
  • Lead phase out APs and projects offsetting process to transform in to IGA.
  • Manage business plan preparation
  • Coordinate piloting process of IGA.  

Project Management

  • Identify existing WVE resources and assets to use as start up for IGA
  • Ensure MEAL of IGA businesses
  • Make available resources on funding WVE objectives from business profit.
  • Identify and support staff capacity building efforts related to IGA, in transitioning APs

Communication and Networking

  • Work closely with other Business making organizations and Transitioning AP team
  • Engage with Communication and marketing teams to develop and implement effective marketing and communication (both internal and external) that ensure knowledge capture and learning across the organization
  • Participate in Christ-centered commitment activities, creates opportunities for spiritual reflection to increase passion for ministry and demonstrates Christian principles in work and lifestyle.

Job Requirements

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of profit making business development and management, including how INGOs operate in IGA. Understanding WV current ministry National resource development strategy and operations is critical
  • Written Communication Skills: Exceptional professional writing skills in developing business plans, marketing and promotional ideas, tools, processes, guidelines, and other professional communications. Ability to present complex ideas and concepts clearly in front of different audiences
  • Computer Skills: Demonstrates effective computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office, outlook, intranet, and social media
  • English Language Proficiency: The ability to speak, understand and write fluently in English
  • Demonstrate excellent team working, self motivation, and organizational skills, marketing and business consultin
  • Exposure on corporate business management, new business development and government relation management.
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing Management, Business management, Economics, other scientific/technical disciplines
  • 5+ years’ experience in managing NGO IGA or corporate Business Development
  • 2+ years’ experience in business development and marketing
  • Sound knowledge and experience of a range of business management and process development.
  • Sound knowledge and experience of on income Generation
  • Sound knowledge of strategies and techniques to maximize and diversify resources for improving the office revenue.
  • Good partnering and intercommunication skill 

Duration of the contract: Until September 30, 2024

Duty Station: Head Office 

Office-base with 25% travel to the filed.
