Premier Switch Solutions S.C. (PSS) is a leading Electronic Payment Processing Company, established by major private banks of Ethiopia. The Company has implemented the first multi-institution shared-switch infrastructure to provide its member banks with a state of the art payment technology to drive ATM, POS, e-commerce, Mobile Banking and other payment channels and provide clearing of Debit/Credit card transactions for the banks. 

Currently, PSS has two vacant positions stated below and would like to invite applicants who meet the qualification and required experience listed for these job openings. 

Description of Duties

• Implement the strategic direction of the payment database administration.
• Develop policies, procedures and process documents for the database administration and lead in their implementation through continuous review.
• Manage the design, setup, installation and integration of various databases to meet the business’ requirements and are compliant with PCI DSS and other relevant security standards.
• Build high availability and best performance of systems to meet the customer expectation.
• Manage vendor relationship and monitor all database support activities.
• Discuss with database vendors to implement fixes and issues that are logged to vendors portals.
• Involve in different payment application and other related projects.
• Develop procedures to ensure data integrity and quality are maintained.
• Establish users’ privilege and monitor user access management.
• Conduct database performance metrics.
• Design and develop business intelligence reports.
• Manage and implement reporting systems.
• Implement system capacity planning and business continuity.
• Ensure database and logs backup, restoration, archiving and retention policy and procedures are properly implemented regularly.
• Lead maintenance, upgrade and migration of database and related systems.
• Research new database technologies and work with the relevant work units in the development of new products and services.
• Work closely with the payment application work unit.
• Prepare budget for the unit.
• Provide training, coaching and mentoring of employees within the unit towards effective career development.
• Manage incidents timely.
• Prepare periodic reports

Job Requirements

Qualification & Work Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in ICT, Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field from a recognized institution
• At least 8 years’ experience in database administration
• Training in Oracle Database is required
• Professional certification is advantageous
• Extensive knowledge in database technologies, data security, database architecture is required
• Experience in Oracle database, Oracle RAC and grid infrastructure management is advantageous
