Summary
The U.S. Mission in Addis Ababa/Ethiopia is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Community Liaison Office Administrative Clerk.
The work schedule for this position is: Full Time (40 hours per week)
Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time (4 weeks) of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Duties
The CLO Administrative Assistant works in the Management Section of the US Embassy and is directly supervised by the CLO Coordinators. Provides administrative support to the Community Liaison Officer. The incumbent assists the Community Liaison Officer in developing and maintaining key contacts and managing information that benefits the morale and welfare of the entire Mission. Supports the 8 (eight) areas of CLO responsibilities (Event Planning, Community Liaison, Welcome & Orientation, Guidance and Referral, Employment Liaison, Crisis Management, and Information & Resource Management). S/he prepares and disseminates Post’s newsletter in the absence of the CLO; provides information on embassy operations, policies, and services; organizes and safeguards records, and updates CLO SharePoint site and other CLO-related data portals. Employee adheres to privacy rules and maintains CLO customer confidentiality.
Qualifications and Evaluations
EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of three years of experience in a field involving problem-solving for a diverse, complex customer or client population, including advocacy on others' behalf, effectively working with officials at all levels of an organization, and interpreting, adapting, and applying regulatory or procedural material is required.
EDUCATION:
- Completion of secondary school is required.
LANGUAGE:
- English Level 4 (Fluent) speaking, reading, and writing, and Amharic Level 4 (Fluent) speaking, reading, and writing are required.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Excellent communication (written and oral) skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multi-tasks
- Strong research skills in order to respond to inquiries from the Embassy community
- Must be proficient in the use of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and SharePoint
- Ability to develop and maintain effective contacts in local business and service communities
- Basic manual skills needed to produce invitations, flyers, and take photos during events
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills in order to deal with a variety of Embassy personnel, family members, and delegations
- Ability to draft newsletter and other CLO basic office correspondence, use good judgment in performing administrative tasks, and provide quality customer service. (These may be tested)

Benefits
