We are pleased to announce the following vacancy for Executive Head – Partner Management, within the Sales and Distribution Function in Ethiopia. In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below. 

Detailed Description 

Reporting to the Chief Sales and Distribution Officer, this role involves driving Sales and Distribution through the Distributor Channel and Key Accounts. The role holder will also be responsible for championing growth and development of the Distributor Channel and Key Accounts while actively managing the Distributor channel and footprint growth ensuring both a healthy and profitable network and growth through regional optimization. In addition to that, the role holder will manage the Safaricom Relationship with the Channel Partners to ensure optimum channel productivity and long-term sustainability

Job Responsibilities 

  • Develop a clear Distributor channel, Key accounts and distribution strategy focused on the needs of our different products penetration objectives
  • Develop clear plans and KPIs to improve distributor performance (where necessary), and open and close new outlets
  • Monitor distributor/store performance. Give recommendations to sales team on store-by-store target setting
  • Manage partner contracts
  • Define and manage the commissions for partners working closely with Channel Intelligence team
  • Deliver airtime sales revenue and acquisition targets through distributor and key account network
  • Develop, train & motivate distributor and key accounts network to enhance 3rd party practices in the market
  • Ensure compliance of distributor operating standards and contracts.
  • Achieve modems/handsets sales target through partner network.
  • Drive Channel Development to ensure channel has adequate distribution resources (Distributor Outlets/ Motorbikes and DSPs)
  • Manager Safaricom Relationship with the Distributor and Key Account Partners to ensure optimum channel productivity and long-term sustainability.
  • Ensure highest level of integrity especially in dealing with channel partners through reinforcing high ethical and compliance standards in the sales and distribution process
  • Recruit, train, develop and motivate Distributor management, key accounts and support team to achieve overall sales objectives.
  • Monitor and manage team performance.

Job Requirements

Qualifications 

  • Degree in a Business-related field
  • A master’s degree in Sales & Marketing will be an added advantage
  • Intermediate knowledge of business finance principles is essential.
  • 8 years hands on experience in a FMCG or service sector of which 4 years must have been in a sales managerial position, preferably in a fast-moving consumer goods company or a telecommunications company.
