We are pleased to announce the following vacancy for Executive Head – Financial Planning and Analysis Function in Ethiopia. In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below.

Detailed Description

Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer , the role holder will be responsible for the provision of expert knowledge and may influence elements of the finance strategy through delivery of financial plans, analysis and linking financial performance with the operational performance of the different business areas, explaining deviations and proposing corrective actions.

The role focusses upon the management of a team of finance professionals who analyze and interpret financial and non-financial data, influencing strategic financial decisions, and formulating plans and budgets to execute developed strategies.

Job Responsibilities

  • Influences strategic decision making related to management of the planning cycles and operational budget to support the achievement of the overall finance strategy.
  • Leads the delivery of translating group strategies into plans and the analysis of performance.
  • Supports leading the results review process with early identification of risks (financial and operational) and manages the FPA team to propose and prompt corrective actions.
  • Uses advanced analytical thought to resolve challenges and analyses current and past trends on KPIs across the revenue, costs, and capital expenditure areas.
  • Possesses a broad and comprehensive understanding of modelling and commercial drivers underpinning financials and the impacts of special strategic business cases.
  • Manages a team of finance professionals, and ensures that they formulate, develop, deliver, link and monitor financial plans and analysis, and recommend the design and development of KPIs to steer the business area successfully.
  • Builds and maintains solid relations with senior managers, and acts as the key interface between the finance function and business heads to agree financial plans, initiatives, and policy.
  • Supports with the development of financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives.
  • Supports internal negotiations with clarity and consistency, providing insights on financial and commercial performance of the company to key stakeholders.

Job Requirements

Qualifications 

  • A graduate with a degree in a financial field
  • Recognized accounting qualification (CPA (K), ACCA, etc.)
  • 6-8 years’ experience in Finance
  • Significant work experience in the telecommunications industry
  • Able to develop and recommend financial operational policies and processes for the business
