Job Description

Kegna Beverages S.C is a beverages Manufacturing Industry officially established by shareholders on April 1, 2017. The beverage green field project is located in Oromia regional state in west Shewa zone nearest to Ginchi town while the project office is located at Elilly International Hotel new building 10th floor Kazanchis, Addis Ababa. The company will engage in producing quality alcoholic & non- alcoholic beer brands which inspire human beings in the first phase and also have 2nd phase expansion plan to produce carbonated water, Juices and other portfolios. Hence, Kegna Beverages SC would like to invite competent and qualified candidates to apply for the following positions to be hired on permanent basis:

Position Summary: :: The IT Officer is responsible for efficient and satisfactory provision of all IT related activities of the company. S/he is responsible for providing effective ICT support including but not limited to: planning, implementing and maintaining all IT related issues and processes of the company such as System administration, Networking, Maintenance, Consulting and Troubleshooting.

Roles and Responsibilities: 

  • Provide helpdesk assistance on Networking, Maintenance, Consulting, Troubleshooting and evaluating problems and resolving IT related issues of the project. 
  • Plan & execute implementation of companywide computer network system, MS Exchange based Messaging System,
  • Install and configure application, database and file servers with relevant operating & application systems including: Windows Server, MS Exchange Server, or any appropriate software system.
  • Monitor system alerts/events on server and reports from client computers and peripherals and take appropriate action.
  • Carry on continuous monitoring on the IT infrastructure’s availability, performance and security and audit users’ system utilization practice and control activities.
  • Planning, coordinating, and implementing system security measures to protect system, data, and hardware.
  • Perform general maintenance of hardware and software of IT equipment, which includes repairing and upgrading personal computers, replacing faulty equipment, network & internet equipment, printers, telecom equipment, etc.
  • Install and configure approved computer hardware and licensed software following policies and procedures thereof.
  •  Administers LAN and WAN and ensure the smooth operation of connectivity 
  • Install the latest Operating System, anti-virus and Application software based on the compatibility and constantly ensure system performance
  • Setup IT policies for users and ensure ICT devices are running according to ICT standards.
  • Monitor network communications, databases, website and social media of the company.
  • Ensure the security of the domain and all hosting functions are effectively working
  • Maintain up-to-date hardware and software inventories
  • Manage user and computer accounts and their privileges according to policies and procedures. 
  • Configure and manage email accounts and make sure the domain is always active.
  • Monitor ICT (physical and network) security and fix /report any risks or incidents to the Management.
  • Enhance the security level and keep the site protection is always up to date
  • Always take back up for quick restore
  • Maintain up-to-date System documentation to ensure accuracy of information.
  • Manage printers, photocopy machines, scanners and fax machines
  • Give ICT orientation to new employee and ensure that ICT policy is applied
  • Provide training to staff on the use of ICT related tools & techniques
  • Ensure that confidentiality and data protection requirements are maintained and adhered.
  • Monitor, assess and keep senior management informed of the quality, efficiency and timeliness of IT related activities;
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with other Departments, employees and other stakeholders;
  • Performs other related duties assigned by immediate supervisor.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, Computer Engineering or related fields.
  • Hands on experience on ICT technical support
  • Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) or CCNA/CISCO Certification is desirable
  • Sound experience in hardware and software maintenance, network management and systems administration
  • Good understanding of how systems and databases work from an end-user perspective
  • Experience in managing windows server environment and Cisco routers, switches and IT Security Tools (Anti-virus, Firewall, Anti-spyware, backups, etc.)
  • Configuring and monitoring network devices of wireless access points, switches, routers and firewalls
  • Excellent knowledge of server 2008 R2 and above
  • Practical skill in monitoring and resolving connectivity issues

Knowledge skills, attitude & attributes:

  • Well-developed and proven communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Flexible and able to work well under pressure.
  • Proficiency in English, Amharic and Afaan Oromoo
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and foster trust and respect.
  • Self-motivated, highly organized and detail oriented
  • Exhibit a desire to support a large number of people
