JOB TITLE: Household Lister – Impact of COVID-19 on Immunization Survey

LOCATION: Addis Ababa and Oromia Region, Ethiopia

REQUIRED NUMBER: 8

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Contract for 1 Month

POSITION SUMMARY:

 The household listing will be done to create a sampling frame for a household survey, which will involve 48 enumeration areas (EAs). ICAP will hire a total of 8 listers on a temporary basis who will undertake household listing of households in the survey areas. Each HH listing team will consist of 2 listers. The Listers will contact local officials in each EA and inform them about the data collection operation and ensure their cooperation. They will be responsible for establishing EA boundaries, and record the description of every structure with the names of the household heads in electronic listing forms on computer tablets. They will also do quality control (QC) of the listed data; and regularly submit the data to their team leaders. 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work under the supervision/guidance of the team leader
• Assist the team leader in contacting local officials in each EA and informing them about the listing operation to obtain their cooperation
• Handle tablets, other equipment and supplies with care
• Practice best methods with tablets (charging battery, turning off Wifi connectivity when not needed, etc.)
• Assist the Team Leader in identifying the boundaries of the EAs
• List all the households in the EA in a systematic manner
• Capture on a hardcopy listing form information for households or structures that was newly identified during quality control
• Communicate to the Team Leader problems encountered in the field and follow the leader’s instructions
• Checking tablets to ensure that all the forms are filled and the responses are recorded
• Maintain good team spirit with the assigned team leaders
• Report all best practices and challenges to the team leader
• Conduct 10% re‑listing of structures and their households for quality control

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in household listing activities.
• Able to travel and undertake the fieldwork

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with computers, especially with the use of tablet
• Census and DHS related experience is a plus

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Temporary hire for 30 days
