Main Duties Operational·
- Carry out the repair, maintenance and engineering operations according to the departmental standards during his/her shift.·
- Properly handles and maintains all power tools and measuring instruments.·
- Assists other colleagues whenever requested.·
- Takes readings of the utility consumption during his/her shift and alerts the senior shift technician highlighting deviations or any other critical observations.·
- Takes reading of LPG and Diesel fuel bulk stock and takes action as necessary. Inform senior shift technician.·
- Attends daily briefings and de-briefings during his/her shift and be aware of departmental plans for the daily operations.·
- Makes and takes handover from the corresponding shift technician to ensure continuity in smooth operations.·
- Reads the log readings on a daily basis highlights deviations and keeps superiors informed while carrying out any corrective action required.·
- Suggests any modifications on the installations to minimize waste of material and provide access for future maintenance.·
- Avoids unsightly hazards and complies with all local regulations and codes.·
- Ensures cleanliness of all work areas and protects the surroundings when executing duties.·
- Executes Preventive Maintenance Program according to schedules.·
- Regularly inspects the entire building with particular attention on defective or deficient life safety features and to observe closely the condition of all operating equipment. Specific attention must be placed on areas of difficult access.·
- Ensures effective energy conservation measures in areas of operations.·
- Ensures fire, life and safety systems are operational.·
- Ensures effective service recovery pertaining to guests’ feedback.
Customer Service·
- Ensures he/she delivers the brand promise and provide exceptional guest service at all times.·
- Provides a courteous and professional service at all times and ensures that employees also provide excellent service to internal customers in other departments as appropriate.·
- Handles all guest and internal customer complaints and inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, following through to make sure problems are resolved satisfactorily.·
- Maintains positive guest and colleague interactions with good working relationships.
Financial·
- Fully engage in the department’s employee productivity improvement activities like multi-skilling, multi-tasking and flexible scheduling to meet the financial goals of the business as well as the expectations of the guests.
Personnel·
- Adhere to the hotel’s punctuality and appearance policy, making sure that he/she wear the correct uniform and maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene, according to the hotel and department’s grooming standards.·
- Participates in training and cross training of programs.·
- Participates in the Engineering colleagues effectiveness programs by developing his/her own skills and abilities through the appropriate training, coaching, and/or mentoring.·
- Actively participates in the annual Performance Development Discussions and take ownership for the achievement of agreed professional development goals.·
- Shift technician has to be creative and innovative.·
- Supports reinforcement of Hyatt’s Values.·
- Shift technician should understand and adhere to employee rules and regulations.·
- Shift technician follow all hotel, company and local rules, policies and regulations relating to fire and hazard safety, and security.·
- Should participate in give feed honest feedback Employee Opinion Survey for the betterment of the company handling of colleagues.
Other Duties·
- Attends and contributes to all training sessions and meetings as required.·
- Is knowledgeable in statutory legislation in employee and industrial relations.·
- Exercises responsible behavior at all times and positively representing the hotel team and Hyatt International.·
- Maintains strong, professional relationship with relevant representatives from competitor hotels, business partners and other organizations.·
- Reads the hotel's Employee Handbook and has an understanding of and adheres to the hotel's rules and regulations and in particular, the policies and procedures relating to computer resources, fire, hygiene, health and safety.·
- Ensures high standards of personal presentation and grooming.·
- In this role you will also be required to multi-task in various aspects of the operations as advised by your managers from time to time·
- Responds to changes in the Engineering function as dictated by the industry, company and hotel.·
- Carries out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 3 years work experience as Electrician in a Hotel or in a similar large building/ complex with central plant;
- Require Technical qualification on Electrical, proof of apprenticeship or company training.
- Should have special skills on High & Low Voltage, Motor Controls, Electronics.
