Who we are

SOS Children’s Villages Ethiopia is an International Non-governmental organization and a member of SOS Children’s Villages International Federation. The organization started its humanitarian work with the opening of its first Village in Mekelle, Northern part of Ethiopia in 1974. The organization has been providing life-saving provisions such as food, water and health services for a very significant number of children devastated by severe drought and the subsequent famine.

Today, we have grown significantly to meet the persistent challenges that confront Ethiopian children who have lost parental care and are at risk of losing their parental care. Working in close collaboration with international donors, local government and community based organizations across seven program locations; SOS Children’s Villages Ethiopia aspires that every child grows up with love, respect and security.

Why we need you?

We are looking for a qualified ICT Coordinator, who will be responsible for organizing and providing end users ICT technical support, ICT services implementation, regular inspection and maintenance across SOS Children’s Villages Ethiopia. In cooperation with the ICT manager, the ICT coordinator supports in implementation of SOS Children’s Villages global goals, policies and standards in the Member Association. S/he ensures reliable ICT services in terms of availability, integrity and confidentiality.

Your role....

While working with us an ICT Coordinator, you will

Report to:  ICT Manager

In charge of the following;

  • Providing onsite and remote ICT technical support for end users daily technical issues and provide timely and effective solutions.
  • Coordinating technical ICT support service to remote offices through location ICT contacts.
  • Administering, maintaining and regularly monitoring ICT services including internet connectivity, cloud and on premise network devices, end user cloud data storage and sharing, business software, LANs, WANs, Wi-Fi networks, computers/laptops across the member association.
  • Identifying end users specific knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to support defence of the national association; develop and execute an integrated plan to assess, identify gaps, and remediate through policy, organizational planning, training, and awareness programs.
  • Designing, coordinating/implementing, documenting and maintaining ICT services in the organization.
  • Implementing organizational ICT policies, guidelines, procedures and standards to ensure ICT systems, data and end users are protected from threats.
  • Ensuring all systems, software and hardware operated in SOS children’s Villages Ethiopia are approved ones and has the latest security patches, updates and firmware.
  • Protecting the organization's information, as well as its reputation, by implementing an incident response management procedure for quickly discovering an attack and then effectively containing the damage, eradicating the attacker's presence, and restoring the integrity of the network and systems.
  • Conducting inventory and control of hardware and software assets.
  • Managing end user accounts based on user account life cycle management guideline
  • Customizing end user devices as per organization system hardening standard.
  • Evaluating offices technology usage and needs; recommend improvements, such as hardware, software, ICT security and network upgrades.
  • Maintaining an up-to-date ICT network documentation about infrastructure in place, network setup, servers and laptops configuration, licenses, access credentials, and any ICT related service contracts.
  • Providing first line support on all general and specific software, hardware and network issues where needed, including travelling to remote office locations.

The must haves:

Education 

  • Bsc Degree in Computer Science or other similar fields of study 

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years work experience with proven ICT technical experience of supporting end users and systems in a large and complex organization. Sound experience in hardware and software maintenance, network management, software development, website development and systems administration.

Additional Requirements and required competencies

  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills - combined with a keen ability to communicate well in both verbal and written form.
  • Experience in workings of Microsoft Office 365 platforms(outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, power platform etc.), Azure AD, Multifactor authentication(MFA),Cisco Meraki SD WAN, Windows Intune, Secure printing,

  • Prior INGO Experience is an asset
