Job Description

SNV is a not-for-profit international development organization. SNV, Netherlands Development Organization, is operating in Ethiopia since the 1970s. Currently, SNV Ethiopia is working in eight regional states and the two city administrations of Ethiopia, providing technical assistance and program implementation in Agriculture, WASH, and Energy Sectors. SNV is an open and learning organization that focuses on improving the lives of Ethiopian through a market based approach inclusive of women and youth. In its new Strategic Plan period (2019 – 2022), SNV will more explicitly aim for systems change including strengthening institutions and kick-starting markets that help many more to escape poverty beyond our projects. Sustainable Energy for Smallholder Farmers (SEFFA) Project in Ethiopia, Kenya and Uganda is a multi-country project jointly implemented by GIZ, SNV & RVO that focuses on addressing the core problem of the lack of access to sustainable and affordable energy technologies and services for productive use of energy (PUE). SEFFA is an EnDev project co-financed by IKEA Foundation with the project duration of three years (Jan 2021 – Dec 2023). For the case of SNV ET, the project will be implemented in selected Woredas of Amhara, Oromia, Sidama and SNNP Regions.

Job Requirements

EOI Component

To mitigate the challenges professionally the project is interested to work with different private sector players. Therefore, SEFFA project request for Expression of Interest from

  • Component I: Solar technology suppliers (Solar Powered Irrigation Systems (SPIS) and Solar Dryer including after sales service providers)
  • Component II: Business Development Service providers/Consultants (Marketing, promotion and awareness creation, business case development, business training, etc)
  • Component III: Irrigation service providers/consultants for the project implementation in Ethiopia

How to Apply

  1. The Applicants must submit the EoI with sealed envelope labelled with the submission address (as indicated below), reference number, title of the Project and name of the company
  2. The Application must be submitted in the English language and in the format prescribed by SNV. All required information must be provided, responding clearly and concisely to all the points set out. Any application which does not fully and comprehensively address this Request for Expression of Interest may be rejected.
  3. The Application document should comprise of the following:
  • Cover Letter indicating for which component/s they are applying
  • A copy of this Request for Expression of Interest duly signed on all pages by the applicants’ Authorized Representative; and Duly Accomplished Annexes with All requested information.

Applications shall be evaluated in accordance with the following criteria:

  1. Capacity
  2. Track Record and Experience
  3. Technical Expertise

NB: Only eligible and qualified companies/firms based on above criteria shall be invited to participate in the capacity building program and considered for bidding/tender process. Applications may be modified or withdrawn in writing, prior to the closing time specified in this Request for EoI. Applications shall not be modified or withdrawn after the deadline. The interested bidder shall collect the instruction for this expression of interest and bid document from the above address. SNV reserves the right to accept or reject any Application, and to cancel the EOI process.

All the required complete pre-qualification documents with requested details, shall be submitted in a sealed and stamped envelope, marked by the specific name of the bid, to the below address on or before 14th February 2022,  5:00pm.
