Job Description

Essential Function

  • Facilitate and coordinate the general operation of Trade Service Activities, propose new and better way of handing TS products and services;
  • Improves the existing,
  • carry out intensive marketing work to attract more customers to the bank,
  • closely monitors and supervises the timely submission of reports to NBE and others;
  • Prepare progress reports on the performance of trade services/ and make correspondences related to trade services activities with all stake holder,
  • Sign and countersign on transaction tickets, correspondence letters, SWIFT messages etc as secretary to the foreign exchange approving committee;
  • Receives and checks export L/C documents against the terms and condition and ensures that documents are presented accordingly.
  • Approves import and export permits as well as purchase orders
  • Advices arrival of export L/C to beneficiaries and acknowledges receipt of same to the issuing bank.
  • Counter checks and processes the opening, advising, amendment, settlement and cancellation of export L/Cs.
  • Communicates forex approval decisions to the respective customer/branches for further processing
  • Maintains files and insures safekeeping of all documents related for forex approvals
  • Exchanges cash denominations and posts the transactions
  • Performs other duties as required by the supervisor

Job Requirement

  • Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Banking & Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Management and any other related fields with 7.5/9.5 years of experience in relevant field in banking industry, of which 2 years in  senior officer position in foreign banking operation
