About the Position

Dexis is looking for an experienced Deputy Chief of Party for USAID/Ethiopia’s anticipated Strengthening Ethiopian Civic Voice and Agency opportunity. The program seeks to strengthen Ethiopia's civic fabric by supporting collective action by civic actors to advocate to and engage constructively with government in order to create more inclusive, accountable, and citizen-responsive policy and governance processes.

This position is based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and is contingent upon contract award.

Responsibilities

The Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) will lead and/or oversee technical activities and supervise civil society and governance experts on the team. S/he will oversee engagements with civic actors to build their capacity, programming, collaboration etc. and government engagements to improve policy and governance.

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's in public administration, political science, international relations or development, or related field (Masters preferred);
• 8-10 years of experience implementing and managing USAID-funded governance, civil society, community support projects, public service delivery, or related programs with at least 4-5 years in a senior management roles;
• Understanding of and experience working on governance / civil society programming and approaches within the Ethiopian context; (4) strong network of Ethiopian civic actors and government counterparts;
• Fluency in English.
