OXFAM in Ethiopia:
Oxfam in Ethiopia is an international NGO working on humanitarian and long-term development programs in the country since 1974. It implements innovative interventions on resilience building, WASH, Agriculture, livelihood, influencing, etc. Programs through the application of cross-cutting issues of gender integration, safe programming and safeguarding.
Oxfam’s vision is to see “an Ethiopia free of poverty; where empowered women and other citizens influence and benefit from pro-poor and gender-sensitive systemic changes that reduce their poverty and vulnerability and increase their socio-economic wellbeing”
Currently, Oxfam has introduced a new program entitled Safer and Inclusive Cities Programme as part of the Urban development program pillar under the new OCS (Oxfam Country Strategy).
The major objective of the assignment for Conducting Situation Analysis of Urban Inequality & Governance as well as Urban Vulnerabilities in relation to Climate Change and Conflict in Ethiopia:
The Objective of the assignment is to conduct a situation analysis of urban settings of Ethiopia on urban Inequality, governance, Climate Change and Conflict Vulnerability perspective as well as provide policy recommendations. The key tasks of the assignments of the analysis are provided below.
The major objective of the assignment for Gender Gap Assessment in Urban areas of Ethiopia:
The main objective of the assignment is to conduct a gender gap assessment of selected urban areas out of Oxfam’s urban programme target geographies to inform Oxfam’s urban development programme implementation towards a gender-sensitive programme and project delivery
Hence, Oxfam is now prepared to conduct two separate studies under these two different projects and would like to hire a professional consultancy firm/s.
Experience and Competencies:-
Consultancy to conduct Situation Analysis of Urban Inequality & Governance as well as Urban Vulnerabilities
Consultancy to conduct Gender Gap Assessment in Urban areas of Ethiopia.
Note: Interested applicants can collect one or two of the TORs from the OXFAM Ethiopia Program Office, starting from Monday, 17 January 2022. Applicants are required to carefully read through the TOR/TORs based on their interest and previous experience, make a note of the planned timetable, and submit your financial and technical proposals by Monday ,31 January 2022 (4:00 PM).
This invitation to tender has been issued for the sole purpose of obtaining offers for the provision of the services requested against the TORs. OXFAM reserves the right not to enter into or award contracts as a result of this invitation to tender. OXFAM also reserves the right to terminate any contract issued as a result of this ITT as set out in the contract terms and conditions.
