Job Summary:

This position is a technical position in IMC Field office and the position holder will work under the direction and support of the health program coordinator and guidance from the fiels health coordinator and manager. The position holder is responsible to lead, manage and coordinate the planning, implementation and evaluation processes of UNFPA funded SRH programs of IMC Amhara and Tigray regions. S/He will represent IMC in different coordination meetings the regional and zonal level.

 ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

 Support for program development

  • Regularly assess new developments and needs in project sites during field visits including new gaps and potential areas of intervention in SRH interventions. and draft concept notes and projects.

Program Implementation, Logistics and budget management

  • Ensure that the SRH interventions are properly implemented.
  • Ensure IMC SRH care standards and protocols are met. National health policies and strategies are respected and other relevant project management issues including donor requirements issues including donor requirement are properly addressed.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance during the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of SRH service project activities.
  • As a lead technical person mentor, couch and lead the technical competencies and capacity of field, Midwife mentors, one stop center midwife and nurses.
  • Help in staff recruitment, training, performance monitoring and HR management and ensure the standards and protocols are adhered and implemented.
  • Review program budget and ensure if there is regular alignment of budget versus expenditures.

Reporting and M/E

  • Prepare updates and regular reports on SRH on SRH intervention and submit to CO.
  • Support the project staffs in preparing reports and data flow mechanisms and ensure proper monitoring and evaluation of the projects against its objectives and expected results.

Representation

  • Represent the organization during SRH and other health technical meetings at regional and zonal level as required.

Capacity building and coordination

  • Capacitate field project staffs to enable them to provide high level performance during planning, implementation and reporting.
  • Ensure national guidelines and documents are uses when facilitating the training.

Additional tasks

  • Collaborate with other actors working in the target community.
  • Be flexible and be able to give assistance with different activities not included in this primary job description.
  • Implement other SRH related activities as per the direction from immediate supervisor.

Job Requirements

 Education:

  • MPH degree specialized on RH or MPH with background of Midwifery and SRH program experience.

Experience:

  • Three years SRH program management both technical and managerial experience preferably in humanitarian or development context.
  • Two years of NGO experience on SRH program management both technical and managerial
  • Excellent communication skill
  • Proven training facilitation experience and skills including on the job and formal training
  • Extremely flexible with ability to cope with stressful situation and challenging conditions with limited resources
  • Must be able to write technical reports in English and meet reporting deadline
  • Excellent budget, logistic and human resource management skill
