Job Description

Kelem Ethiopia (KELEM) is a local non-governmental non-profit non-political civil society organization (CSO) committed to humanity. Kelem has been actively participating in on the ongoing developmental activities of the country mainly through the creation of access to quality education, water, Sanitation and hygiene (WaSH) facilities, health, emergency response and capacity building of citizens and institutions at different level.

KELEM was established in 2003, 18 years back, particularly to support and build the capacity of marginalized communities that mainly identified as ‘emerging regions’ of Ethiopia. In line with that Kelem has built, furnished, run and handed over more than 68 schools to regional and local government and able to create access to ten thousands of marginalized school aged children and job opportunities for thousands of citizens. It also made significant contribution in area of health, WaSH, livelihood, Emergency response, reducing illegal migration and capacity building programs in different parts of the country.

KELEM has 98 full time staff based at its headquarters, IGA and branch offices stationed in different parts of the country.

Kelem would like to invite competent, capable and creative potential candidates for the following vacant positions:

JOB SUMMARY:

It is an academic and training center management position. The TCC is expected to strategize the center’s intervention, effectively and efficiently lead the center to achieve its mission and objective. He/she is responsible for leading and designing Kelem’s Job-Oriented Youth Skill Training Center’s (JOYS) strategic plan aligned with organizational strategic plan and ensures its implementation. He/she is also expected to create strong and strategic partnership and collaboration with governmental and non-governmental organizations and related training institutes, colleges and universities based in and out of Ethiopia. The TCC is the lead responsible person to prepare plan, budget and reports of the center.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

Technical/Professional

  • Demonstrated management and leadership skills;
  • Proven skill in partnership building and external relation
  • Ability to work under pressure and take full responsibility
  • Knowledge of and experience in program implementation area
  • Excellent communication skills, Fluent in Amharic and English
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, etc;
  • Able to travel within program implementation area as deemed necessary.

Personal Competencies:

  • Demonstrated strengths in creation, maintaining and management of partnership
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent skill in team forming and leadership

Academic Qualification

  • Required: MA/MSc and/or BA in management, economics, and any other field relevant to the position.
  • Desired: MA/MSc in relevant social fields and project management with proven skill

Required Experience

  • Required: A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience for MA/MSc and 8 years of experience for BA/BSc.
  • Desired: Working experience in technical college management, skill training management and related positions.
