Job Description

Role and responsibilities

The Procurement assistant for Addis office is responsible procurement activities according to agreed procedures and tools at Addis office level. The purpose of this position to receive and proceed purchase requests and ensure efficient and effective delivery of goods and services with regards to NRC value for money principles.

Generic responsibilities

  • Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
  • Provide anti-corruption, transparency and cost-efficiency focus in all procurement processes
  • Conduct procurement process with focus on country and NRC regulations
  • Prepare procurement documents in line with NRC procurement procedures

Specific responsibilities

These responsibilities shall be adapted to the particularities of the job location and context, phase of operation, strategic focus and type of program intervention. 

  • Prepare requests for quotations and source bids & quotations in accordance with NRC procurement regulations.
  • Liaise with receiving units and suppliers to collect invoices and Delivery documents.
  • Prepare the payment request, ensure complete paper trail is attached and submit to the Procurement Officer for verification.
  • Maintain proper files for procurement documents (as per local filling procedures)
  • Assist the Procurement Officer in establishing and coordinating routine processes and procedures for the Procurement department.
  • Any other task reasonably assigned by the supervisor
