About DPO

Development for Peace Organization (DPO) is one of the Non-Governmental Humanitarian organizations. DPO is being implementing various Humanitarian projects in both Emergency and Development settings in Different Regional States of the country.

Responsibilities and duties

• Ensuring the consistency of DPO, donor and Partner design, logo and style guide usage by technical staff within the project for all publications
• Drafting, editing and/or updating articles, press releases, project descriptions for various communication channels, including social media and fact sheets
• Liaising with DPO team in the implementation of the project communication and visibility plan
• Coordinating and establishing press contacts for the project
• Monitoring of media reports on project in channels
• Drafting and editing of project impacts story telling
• Updating and maintaining the DPO communication platforms such as community and intranet
• Development of communication products, incl. graphic design
• Liaising with external service providers (printing companies, graphic designers, photographers, etc.) and managing contracts with suppliers and contractors

Job Requirements

Required qualifications and professional Experience

Qualifications

• University degree in PR, Communication, Journalism, Marketing or similar related fields
• Excellent knowledge of Amharic and English language both in speaking and writing, other language knowledge is an asset
• Good working knowledge of IT (E-mail, internet and computer applications such as MS office)
• A sound understanding of graphic design (such as Photoshop/ Adobe in design)

Professional Experience

• Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in similar role in NGO
• Good knowledge of internal and external communication needs
• Proven track record of development of communication products (incl. content-writing, editing, graphic design)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, eye for detail and team spirit
