Eliminate Tuberculosis from Ethiopia (ETBE) is a five-year USAID-funded project with the goal of reducing TB incidence and mortality by improving the quality, access, utilization, and sustainability of TB services. This project builds on the work of previous USAID activities (Challenge TB, HEAL TB, TB Care, and others) that have been supporting the National Tuberculosis and Leprosy Program (NTLP) to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDG) and STOP TB milestones. ETBE’s support focuses on improving access and utilization to quality and patient-centered comprehensive TB services.

Management Sciences for Health (MSH) is a global health non-profit organization that makes foundational changes to health systems to protect people from diseases and improve their health. MSH collaborates with local partners, from Ministries to communities, to strengthen and complement existing health systems. Since 1971, MSH has worked in more than 150 countries to help and ensure sustainable, resilient, and equitable access to quality health care around the globe.

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:

We are looking for a Procurement Intern to perform various administrative tasks and support our procurement department’s daily activities.

The Procurement Intern's responsibilities include assisting in procurement-related tasks. If you are interested in kick-starting

your career in procurement and getting a closer look at how our organization handles supplier selection, purchase order processing, following up on deliveries, and payment to suppliers, we’d like to meet you.

Ultimately, you will assist in organizing and coordinating our Procurement activities.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Initiate Procurement of required goods and services in accordance with MSH regulations and internally accepted procedures
  • Track orders to ensure prompt delivery of goods and services/follow up delivery date of purchase orders and Other contracts/
  • Produce periodic statements on purchase orders and status of execution of contracts/ Produce follow up statements/
  • Preparing and sending requests for quotations to shortlisted suppliers
  • Evaluating bidders financial proposals
  • Check and clear all outstanding items/payments
  • File/record all procurement documents in an orderly manner for control and reference purposes
  • File maintenance: keeping, organizing, and updating all procurement and fleet-related files
  • Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • BA or MA degree (fresh graduate) in Business Management, Management, Administration or alternatively an equivalent combination of relevant training
  • A high level of computer literacy is required particularly good knowledge of MS Office
  • Good communication skills, drive for results, flexibility, efficiency, respect for diversity
  • Ability to work effectively under stressful conditions and within a team of colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds,

  • Good spoken and written English
  • Amharic and other MSH working languages
