Job Description

Duties and competences that come along with this position:

  • Administrative management of the DA Office (including: entire administration, correspondence, translation, courier, appointments, telephone service, document filing etc.);
  • Open source research work for reports, presentations and briefings;
  • Support to visits and business trips (planning, organization and follow-up);
  • Support to manage the contact network (DA community, external partners, HQ etc.);
  • Support to representation work and invitations (organization of sit-down dinners, business lunches, other occasions)
  •  Supporting to planning work (agenda, budget, annual planning);
  •  Organization of visitor's programs for delegations and official visits;
  • Guaranteeing the operability of the DA Office in the DA's absence;
  •  The Office Manager can be asked to perform other tasks by the Defense Attaché

Job Requirements

  • Ethiopian or dual citizen (CHE-ETH)
  • Mandatory English, Amharic and Afaan Oromo
  • Undamaged reputation. Social skills (integrity, discretion, courtesy)
  • Working on military issues

Professional experience:

  • Complete training (high school, college) in relevant field such as Business Administration or commercial apprenticeship (Swiss education system);
  • Proven professional experience (minimum five (5) years) in a private sector, civil society, government or international institution in a similar position;
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of administrative and financial processes; including their respective management tools.

Skills:

  • Strong social skills and ability to work in team;
  • Demonstrated communication skills;
  • Excellent communication and organizational capacity;
  • Ability to work independently and occasionally under pressure, with minimum supervision;
  • Flexibility;
  • High sense of personal responsibility;
  • Good computer skills notably Microsoft applications (Office Suite, Outlook) ;
  • Ability and interest to work within a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural team;
  • High level of integrity.
