Job Description

Chemonics International Inc. is a US-based international development consulting, operating in over 80 countries, that anticipates a variety of USAID projects in Ethiopia. 

Chemonics seeks qualified technical experts to serve as full-time, long-term staff:

  • Agriculture and Food Security
  • Environmental and Natural Resources
  •  Water, Sanitation and Hygiene
  • Early Childhood Education
  • Civil Society Strengthening

Job Requirements

In addition to this technical expertise, Chemonics seeks technical professionals with the following knowledge:

  • Advanced degree in engineering, education (with specialty in early childhood education), public policy, public administration, economics, water and natural resource management, civil society strengthening, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience in a related field
  • Experience working in Ethiopia and/or Sub-Saharan Africa strongly preferred
  • Fluency in English with excellent oral and written communication skills required; proficiency in Amharic a plus
  • Proven record of building teams and fostering collaboration to achieve program goals, meet program milestones, and produce quality program results
  • Strong working relationship with the Ethiopian government counterparts and ministries; strong ability to manage and deal with diverse stakeholders
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
